Hi,

Filters are showing empty values at the top of most filters. See https://psychewijzer.be/de-juiste-zorg

See filter "Leeftijd":

• option (2) links to main search page (is empty): https://psychewijzer.be/de-juiste-zorg-filter
• option 0 - 3 jaar (348) links corectly: https://psychewijzer.be/de-juiste-zorg-filter/leeftijd-2/A

The filter was working fine.

What I did:

• updated from joomla 5 to 6
• activated Joomla System Cache: Conservative caching
• routed via Cloudflare (after mass bot visits), is now in "under attack mode"

Do you have any idea what is causing the empty filteroptions?

Michel

update: I noticed that the values are empty in the database for that field.

Is there a way to hide empty field values?

Michel

Hi Sakis,

I will try to describe the problem better. I use custom fields that are sometimes left blank. This means where no values are selected. In the screenshot, this is the case for 5 items. I do not want to show these empty values in the filter. Is this possible? The strange thing is that they only appeared after the changes:

• updated from joomla 5 to 6
• activated Joomla System Cache: Conservative caching
• routed via Cloudflare (after mass bot visits), is now in "under attack mode"

Hi Sakis,

I will try to describe the problem better again; perhaps I am using the wrong terminology.
But first of all: we have been using jFilters on this website for years; the problem appeared very recently.

When I look at the filter, I see an empty option at the top followed by the number of results. The link for this refers to the URL of the page itself. Below that, I see the options that were filled in, also with the number of results. The link for that refers to the correct selection.

According to your explanation, I understand that jFilters can only be used if all custom fields (that are used in the filters) have been filled in. In other words: you can only use filters if the custom field is filled in for all articles. Do I understand this correctly?

Michel

Hi Sakis,

I don't know what you mean by "empty values". In the edit-article, for example, there are 3 options for a custom field, while on the frontend in the filter there are four (including an empty option). I am not deleting the articles because other data has definitely been filled in. However, not all custom fields are filled in; a number are empty (not even a space, as they are checkboxes).
