What does "Relevance" mean for the sorting options?

What would be our prefered setup:
Show the "featured" articles first and then all other articles by their manual ordering from the backend.
but I don't know how to accomplish that.

What does "Relevance" mean for the sorting options?
It is the default sorting used by the Smart Search.
It only has meaning to searches. FYI. A search is any request that includes a search term, even if you have selected filters.
Show the "featured" articles first and then all other articles by their manual ordering from the backend.
You can create a sorting rule based on the "Featured" filter, but you cannot set a secondary sorting field for that sorting rule.
By default, the secondary sorting field is the "title".
