I have a problem with setting the filters, I cannot set them by the article title, date etc. When it generates the filters, there are some random things appearing from nowhere with nonsensical settings, and on top of that, I keep getting a message about indexing even though I have indexed it five times already. Is there an option for manual addition and setting of filtering without imposed filters?

What are these nonsendical things?
Regarding the "Re-indexing" message, probably this occurs because the indexing never finishes due to an error.
If possible, check your error logs for an error related to Smart Search/JFilters indexing. Otherwise, you can provide me an admin account to have a look.

If you mean to create your own filter based on some arbitrary data, no it is not possible.
JFilters automatically creates filters from your system's custom fields, categories, tags and some native fields like the author and the creation date. If you want any filter beyond these, have to be added by coding, which will have an extra cost.

I want to search by the title of the article, category, and publication date
JFilters provides only filtering functionalities NOT search.
Though, you can combine the Joomla's Smart Search (for searching based on title) and use the filters for further filtering the results.
There is a filter for category and creation date. We can incorporate the "published date" as well under a small fee.
