Hi, I cannot seem to install the latest version because it told me this error message :
JInstaller: :Install: Error SQL Duplicate key name 'jf_cat_id_state_access_language'
Extension installation aborted.
Package Install: There was an error installing an extension: jfilters.zip
I tried to manually cleanup everything but don't seem to find how to fix the last part that generates this error.
Any tips on how to cleanup everything so I can install the latest version?

I suppose that you did not uninstall the extension, through the Joomla's extensions manager, but you deleted the files manually.
As a result you did not drop/deleted the extension's database tables.
You need to go to your database through your PhpMyadmin (or similar) and drop the tables:
jfilters_fields_subform_values, jfilters_filters, jfilters_links_items
Btw. I suggest to always manage your extension's through the Joomla's extensions manager, to avoid such issues in the future.

I checked further and the mentioned index comes from the content table.
You will get additional similar messages as there are other indexes in other tables that the installer will try to add.
You better remove them using the following sql commands:
ALTER TABLE `#__categories` DROP INDEX `jf_parent_id`;
ALTER TABLE `#__content` DROP INDEX `jf_cat_id_state_access_language`;
ALTER TABLE `#__contentitem_tag_map` DROP INDEX `jf_content_item_id_tag_id_type_id`;
ALTER TABLE `#__contentitem_tag_map` DROP INDEX `jf_tag_id_item_id`;
ALTER TABLE `#__contentitem_tag_map` DROP INDEX `jf_tag_id`;
ALTER TABLE `#__fields_values` DROP INDEX `jf_item_id_field_id`;
ALTER TABLE `#__fields_values` DROP INDEX `jf_value_field_id`;
ALTER TABLE `#__tags` DROP INDEX `jf_parent_id`;
Replace #_ with the prefix used in your db tables

I always use the standard option to uninstall extension but started to do thing manually because the uninstall told me to do so.
After applying your SQL commands I went through the db to see if any tables were left to be certain.
After that I tried to install the extension again but keep getting this message :
JInstaller: :Install: Error SQL Duplicate entry '20-22' for key 'dfgl7_contentitem_tag_map.jf_tag_id_item_id'
or
JInstaller: :Install: Error SQL Duplicate entry '20-45' for key 'dfgl7_contentitem_tag_map.jf_tag_id_item_id'
Have checked this table but there is nothing that looks related to jfilters
Hope you have some tip to fix this :-)

This sounds buggy and would like to know more details on how can i reproduce it.

I think that some of the supplied sql commands were not executed, since one of them removes that index.
Please run/execute them one by one.
Also replace the #_ with your table's prefix (dfgl7).
e.g. ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_contentitem_tag_map` DROP INDEX `jf_tag_id_item_id`;

About the uninstall asking to do things manually, I think it's best to forget about this for now because it might be from an older version getting messed up. Will try to reproduce it on another site and if that happens I will send you more details.
When running the queries one by one this is the result :
ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_categories` DROP INDEX `jf_parent_id`;
ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_content` DROP INDEX `jf_cat_id_state_access_language`;
ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_contentitem_tag_map` DROP INDEX `jf_content_item_id_tag_id_type_id`;
ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_fields_values` DROP INDEX `jf_item_id_field_id`;
ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_fields_values` DROP INDEX `jf_value_field_id`;
ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_tags` DROP INDEX `jf_parent_id`;
above 6 gave empty results
ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_contentitem_tag_map` DROP INDEX `jf_tag_id_item_id`;
ALTER TABLE `dfgl7_contentitem_tag_map` DROP INDEX `jf_tag_id`;
#1091 - Kan 'jf_tag_id_item_id' niet weggooien. Controleer of het veld of de zoeksleutel daadwerkelijk bestaat.
The message above says that it cannot trow it away and to check if the field or key exists.
Checking the structure and indexes there are no indexes that start with jf_ in this table.

That means that the index is already removed. You can go to the next one.
As long as you remove all the indexes, you can go on the installation of the extension.

Hi Sakis,
After doing all the cleanups I still could not install the new version.
The error message gave a hint that something in the tags table was probably not OK. Hence the compaint about the duplicate key. So I decided to just remove all the tags. Install your extension and add the tags again. This way all was OK again.
It's a bit of a bold action but it works. Because I don't know when or how the tags got into this state it's difficult to find the cause.
So better this way and move on :-)
