I wanted to thank you again for the YOOtheme plugin you updated before the summer.
I did not have the time to give you feedback, but we can now indeed have two different Layouts (one for each JFilters Menu Item):

• https://www.moisdudoc.be/filtres-programme/quand/passe (Sessions Category, each session beging linked to a film in the Documentaries Category)
• https://www.moisdudoc.be/filtres-catalogue/annee/2023 (films in the Catalog Category)

So far so good :)

But I have one side effect with the Filter Module.

Indeed,

• I have films both in 2 different Categories: Documentaries and Catalog
• the Custom Field "Year of production" ("Année de production" in French) is assigned to both Categories

But when I open the https://www.moisdudoc.be/catalogue (which is Menu Type: Category Blog), the Filter Module counts not only the films in Catalog... but also the films in Documentaries.

Practical example: 
There is no film of 2018 in Catalog, but the Filter Module says "3" bc there are 3 films in the other Category beging Documentaries. See on https://www.moisdudoc.be/filtres-catalogue/annee/2018

So how comes that the Filter Module also counts articles which are in other categories?
How could we avoid that?

If easier/faster, we can have a quick video call so that we can share screen and speak live.

Without knowing your exact setup, i assume that the "Categories" filter is unpuplished in JFilters.

If you do not want it to be visible but, you want it to be taken into account by the other filters, please set it in listening state.

Txs a lot for your prompt answer, which showed me the way :)

In my setup, the Category filter was Published (really Published, not even just in Listening mode)... but its option "Parent category" was set on a given Category ("Sessions", which have 2 subcategories "Future sessions" and "Past session").

Because of that "parent category" it was inactive when filtering on the "Catalog" Category... and that is why we had this side effect where the filters were counting ALL Articles and not just the "Catalog" Articles.

In the JFilters's page, I did not see any New button allowing to create a second Category Filter... but then I realized that there is a "Save as copy" button.

So now I have 2 Category filters (I give the details here so that it can help other people understanding how it all works): 

1.  Category Filter
   1. Published (bc it has to be visible)
   2. with some "Parent Category" defined
2. Category Filter
   1. Listening Mode (bc it has to be hidden but active)
   2. without any "Parent Category" defined

And now everything works without any side-effect it seems :)

I am even happier that you understand the logic behind all this, without me explaining it to you.

Btw. I know that this request is old, but would be great to write that case study artcicle.
Setup details such as the one mentioned in this ticket could be interesting.

I have not forgotten your request for a Case Study.

I was also waiting for the good timing... and

1. with this website
2. with your new YOOtheme plugin which allows to have multiple Layouts
3. with your new Date field which shows a real Calendar with multiple selection etc

I think I have the perfect use case with added value, showing that even advanced cases like this one can be easily managed by JFilters :)

I have a meeting next week bc they are working on the 2023 Program. So as soon as the new Program will be online I can write that Case Study...
