Feature request - integers in a range

I have a use case that's kind of the opposite of "price within range", but also with integers.

Essentially, the client has a list of programs for people of various ages. For example, 0-8, 6-10, 9-13, 10-18. 

Ideally, the user would be able to filter by their child's age, but because there are overlaps, it's confusing.

I would be happy to use two custom fields (min age and max age), but the user would be able to specify one age, and then the filters would show which programs apply.

I don't know if I explained that well. :) 

Do you think something like that will be on your roadmap?

To my understanding you would like to have a filter where you can enter a range of ages e.g. 8 - 10 and the filter to return the articles that have assigned ages between 8 and 10. Is this right?

Adding a range input and/or a range slider is in a feature we are considering.
But, if added, we intent to allow this display type only for the "Integer" custom field type, so that we ensure that proper data is used in the query.

This is not a feature that will exist in the next release though.
If you like, we can develop it under a reasonable fee, so that we both benefit from that.
