For my first project with JFilter Pro, I want to create a simple search that only consists of the general search field. Above all, content that is in custom fields should be found and displayed. Is this possible? And how?

Not sure that i fully understand your question.
But i assume that you are looking for a feature of the search functionality (i.e. Smart Search) and not filtering (i.e. JFilters).
Do note that JFilters is not related with the search functionality of the Smart Search.
