on this page, we are trying to use the dropdown selector on "Square Footage" we are just getting a "Select Square Footage" button?
is there a custom field setting that we need to set to have the Jfilters to be a dropdown that works?

This is a bootstrap drop-down element.
Given that already tested and works under different templates, i can only assume that it is somehow related with your template.
Could you please test that under a different template e.g. Cassiopeia ?
Also such drop-downs are used by Joomla core modules such as the language module.
If possible you can give a try to that as well.
