Hi Sakis,
the Search Results Sort Field in the JFilters Menu item options tab show "Relevance", "Titel", "Date" and "Price". - In my use case I need to oder the results by the publishing date DESC. - Just cannot figure out on how to achieve this.

There are 2 sets of settings there:
This is used whan a search query is used from the Joomla's Smart Search.
I.e. When you filter the Smart Search results.
This is used when you just use the filters (without a search query).
Both sets of settings include the "Date" field, while the "Filtering Results Sort Direction" can be set to descending (DESC).

thanks for the explanation.
In my case, I use the 2nd filtering option (without the Joomla Smart Search). If I select date, the results seems to get ordered by the publishing date properly. -
Is there as way to switch in between date types (creation date, modifiy date, publishing date) when selecting "date" in the of JSFilters Menu -> Options -> Filtering Results Sort Field Dropdown?

No there is only 1 date field atm, which i think is about the modify date.
It is in our plans to develop some more advanced sorting capabilities in the future.
