Hi Sakis,
i use a custom default_results.php and default_article.php to show products in a grid. That works fine. but now i need to filter contacts on the same website with a second filter module (that should not be a problem) and a total different layout. Instead of 4 colums i need 2 and so on.
Is it possible to have different layouts for different result pages?

This is a very interesting question.
I am also searching to see if Joomla has a global wide way to solve that for all the components or for all menu items. Something like a built-in setting in the menu item. But i did not find something so far.
If you find something please share it here.
So possibly you workaround would be:
1. To create a template override either of Smart Search or of JFilters.
2. Create 2 sublayouts based on the default_results.php
3. Use the layout default.php to determine which of the sublayout will be loaded based on the page's menu item id.

Unfortunately it needs some basic knowledge of php and the Joomla framework.
