Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, presently I have a category blog view of team members that randomly generates the listing order on refresh, as pretty much all the team offer very similar services is there a way that the actual search results order is randomly generated? At the moment the same person is top of the list all the time.

No there is no option for random sorting.

You can find the available sorting fields in the respective setting in the JFilters menu item.

Maybe using the article's "date" as a sorting field works for you, if your content is regularly updated.

Thanks Sakis, would this be something for future versions or would that be dependant on smart search in the core?

To be honest, i find it somehow wired having a random sorting and was not never asked by someone else.

So it will not added in the near releases but if others ask for it, will be added.

Something that you can do, to emulate a kind of random sorting is to use the sorting parameter at the end of your options' urls.

By using something like the following at the end of your urls, you can chane their sorting, per case:

?o=title
?o=date
?o=title&od=desc
?o=date&od=desc
