If I want to show a 'text search', but I don't want to 'list' the titles below, how do I just have the 'text search'?

Hi
JFilters does not have such a feature.
Though you can try to create a template override where you will add the class jfilters-filter-list__item--hidden to the
items.
I.e. Your
item should be like:

Sakis,
Thank you so much. I came up with an idea, that I think could work, I'm using the 'smart search' for the text, just above your filtered search, I think that could work!
I'm trying to recreate this page:
https://www.rutgers.edu/events
I have gotten pretty close here:
https://eventmanager.sas.rutgers.edu/
Next question, how do I format the results?
https://eventmanager.sas.rutgers.edu/search-results/event-date/2024-03-21
- I do not want the type, Author to display
- I need to display the custom date field
thanks,
Laura
Fine!
Next question, how do I format the results?
You will find several articles in our blog on that subject.
- I do not want the type, Author to display
Generally, regarding the results display, applies the same with what applies in the Smart Search.
What you see below each result item, is each item's taxonomies.
You can configure them from the Smart Searh > Content Maps
For the custom fields, you have to edit the custom field and under the Options tab, you will find the setting Do note: You have to re-index your content after changing that.
Btw. Your filering module seems already way better than the one in your example website.

Sakis,
Yes, I agree, I like my site better. And 'they' Rutgers paid a millions to design their site, drupal... and we recreated everything in Joomla in just a few months, pretty cool.
Ok, back to my options:
1. I figured out how to remove the taxonomy from your menu item (search-results)
2. I figured out how to remove the taxonomy from the smart search menu item (search-website)
3. Should I use the SAME menu item for both?
4. If I go to the page:
https://eventmanager.sas.rutgers.edu/
on the left select: Event type --> Humanities Event (3)
---> all good, I see those 3 events
Problem is even if I hit CLEAR, the page isn't 'refreshing', and it says no results found, is that because my page is using Latest News Enhanced (Olivier's tool, where I can make pages look awesome easily).
5. Search results formatting, I'm going to go through Marc's session here and see what I can do...

thanks again!

3. Yes. If you are doing that on the menu item level, you have to do it in the JF menu item as well. You will encounter the same settings there.
4. Your results page is an empty page now.
You can preset filters to that page, to have a predefined result set.
Possibly some categories (which are not loaded into the visible filters).
5. Marc did a good job there, conentrating many information.
As said, if you are looking for more specific info, have a look in our blog.

Hi Laura
I hope you found the way.
Btw.
As you may have noticed, on our website, we feature some testimonials from Joomlers from different countries/communities.
If you find value in JFilters and you would like to write a testimonial, i would be really thankfull.
Thanks!
Kind regards,
Sakis
