We have EVENTS articles with a DATE custom field.

We created a jfilter date filter on this custom field (range mode)

It's easy to create a YTP template with a jfilters module that allows to select events whose date field belongs to the date filter range.

Now we try to achieve something more : having a jFilters menu item that uses the date jfilters so that it is PRESET to >= current date.

the goal is to display on this menu item only the future events.

but the menu item PRESET conditions don't allow us to specify > current_date

May be there is another way to achieve the same goal ?

Actually the smartest way to do it would be you add two things in the jfitlers menu presets options on a date jfilter :

* being able to set 'current date'

* beung able to set a comparison operator that would be =, >,<,<=,>= here

If you select 2 dates (1 lower and 1 higher) in your Preset Filters field,  while you have enabled the "Date Range" for that filter, these 2 dates will be used as a date range (from date - to date).

Though to set today as the 2nd date (the higher), needs to be done programmatically.

If you are interested, we can possibly prepare a php script that runs as a cron job daily and changes the 2nd date to today.
Though this will have an extra cost.

Thank you but I would be more interested in a quote for this plugin evolution in the menu item :

* being able to set 'current date' as the preset value

* being able to set a comparison operator that would be =, >,<,<=,>=

This would be much smarter than a cron job.

This is not something we consider developing at the moment.
Though we can consider it, for our future roadmap.
